The closest I've gotten was using Philosophy's The Supernatural in Bronze, which is actually a foundation. In fact, most bronzers are too muddy and usually end up making me look dirty, so I usually try foundations or pressed powders in tan skintones to get a "bronzer" effect without looking like I went off-roading. Not to mention the over abundance of shimmer and sparkle in most bronzing products, which I LOATHE. It's tacky, and not at all natural. I don't know about you, but I don't shine like a disco ball after a day at the beach.
While running errands earlier [ok, I was actually trying to locate the September Vogue, but that's neither here nor there], I stopped into Quik Chek to grab a sandwich. Browsing the store while waiting for it to be made, I came across an e.l.f. display...for those of you not familiar, cute little no frills cosmetics, and everything is a buck. What did I have to lose? If it sucked, I could toss it without a second thought.
I left with a cover stick in fair, an eyepencil sharpener [I needed one], and because of my neverending bronzer quest, a clarifying pressed powder in Tone 3 - Spice.

Andddddddddd we have a winner! I cannot tell you how stoked I am. When I got home, I brushed some on, took a few pics for verification, examined in natural light, and the shade is PERFECT for believably bronzing my fair skin. And it only costs a dollar!!!
I'll be going back to buy out their inventory. Did I mention that it only costs ONE DOLLAR?!?!?!
