The other day I decided that I HAD to have cobalt nails, and of course I can't find an exact true cobalt, so off to mixing we go!

I applied one coat of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Blue It, and topped it with one coat of Jesse's Girl in Blue Moon...and got EXACTLY the cobalt foil look that I wanted:

Equally as obsessive is my new found interest in glitter polish. Thus, here we are.

I was originally going to mix my own with blue craft glitter and clear polish (and still might), but for now I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Shooting Star (which looks like this alone, not my pic).

It wasn't as true blue as the effect I wanted, but it'll do for now.
Like I said, I'd planned to find cobalt craft glitter and pack it on with clear topcoat, but this was easy for the time being. And I really do love the effect. It's already peeled off (I did this...2 days ago?), but that's totally my fault. I hadn't planned on glitter originally, and I had 2 coats of polish + a topcoat, than added 2 coats of glitter and another coat of topcoat, so with 6 coats, it was bound to chip immediately.
Next I'm going to tackle cobalt bling nails, a blue version of Katy Perry's Swaraovski nails...
But first, I'm going to play with the other new polishes I bought the other night. Fuschia glitter, anyone? ;)
