Make sure to shut the closet door at night.

Outsapop did an amazingly fab (and borderline creepy) DIY fashion hanger tutorial for the the Jan-Feb issue of MissMix magazine, and it's too good not to share.

Here's how to do it:

YOU´LL NEED:
celebrity magazine clippings / friend photos
copymachine
Spray Mount photo sprayglue (15 hanger = 1 can)
carpet knife
scissors
marker and pencil
highlight markers

INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1.
Find photos of your friends or celebrity magazine clippings. Front face shots only, sizing minimum 8 x 8 cm (3 x 3 inches). Printed online photos don´t do for this project as their resolution is not high enough.

STEP 2. Cut the background out. Enlarge photos first to A4 and then to A3 with a copymachine. Try to get the head as natural size as possible. Shoulders should almost fit paper. The final copy ratio in these photos was about 350-400% depending on the original image size.

STEP 3.
Cut the cardboard slightly wider and much taller than your photocopy. Spray both surfaces and glue on the image, as close to the top as possible

STEP 4.
Cut out the extra cardboard over the head and shoulders. The bottom can stay as it is as it will be hidden inside the garment. When done, cut shoulders rounder.

STEP 5.
Clean up the edges from both sides with scissors.

STEP 6.
Draw the hanger hook first with a pencil. Start by scetching the hole in the middle of the forehead so that the hanger will be in balance. Check that the hanger hook opening is big enough to fit the clothng rack before cutting. Mark and cut with a carpet knife.

STEP 7.
The hanger hook is easier to cut out if you first cut it from the right side and than from the back side. After the first one is done you can use it as a stencil for the following hangers.

STEP 8.
Don´t worry if the edge does not come out perfectly finished and even! This is trashion, not rocket science..

STEP 9.
Use highlight markers for makeup.

Finished!

This is so fun! I now have the sudden urge to photocopy giant model heads.
Thanks!

i'd think you should glue/tape/whatever a wire hanger to the back of that, in case your clothes were heavy. & if you're keeping up appearances, use a 2nd piece of cardboard to cover the hanger :P
