A Carrie Bradshaw dream come true: SJP to design for Halston.

Rumors are flowing that Sarah Jessica Parker is in talks to accept a "creative director" title at a legendary design house. An inside source has revealed that talks of Parker joining Halston are ongoing, though nothing has been confirmed.

Parker is obviously no stranger to the industry. SJ has gained icon status and a cult following both for her own personal style, and that of her most famous character to date (need I mention the name?). You also may remember her collaboration with the Gap, along with her now defunct mini brand, Bitten.

On the flip side, Parker does have a movie to promote, and her character has coincidentally been styled in many looks by the house, as we've seen in pap shots, press materials, and fashion blogs (including the dress above).

What do you guys think? Publicity stunt, or do you think this will happen?

*(EDIT 1/14/10)

The rumors swirling yesterday are true: Sarah Jessica Parker IS joining Halston, though she'll be designing for the Halston Heritage label. Heritage is Halston's secondary line featuring archival looks. There's no word on her actual title as of yet (creative director seems likely), but we do know that part of the deal is an equity stake in the company, as well as another executive role within Halston.
