Bikini Bum Facial - COMPLETELY bare doesn't begin to cover it...

The fine folks at Completely Bare Spa asked if I would like to try their new Bikini/Bum facial, and well... I'm too chicken shit. Thankfully, I found someone who wasn't.

Noni was willing to leave (most) of her modesty at the door and experience the treatment for the sake of reporting. Twitter users even were able to follow the process live via her twitter feed (@MissVersatile). Brave girl. ;)

Back to the treatment. The service is described:

Cindy Barshop, owner of completely bare spa (in NY) and hair removal expert, developed the Bikini/Bum Facial to minimize the damage from continual trauma from a bad wax, excessive shaving and ingrown hairs resulting in discoloration, scarring, and hyper-pigmentation causing a “shadow” effect. The treatment also treats acne, age spots and rough skin on the buttocks, ensuring that skin looks flawless in even the most itsy-bitsy of bikinis. At the end of the treatment, skin feels baby-smooth to the touch. The 45-60 minute treatment includes the following steps:

Step 1: Cleansing the area

Step 2: Crystal Microdermabrasion – exfoliates dead skin and scars of ingrown hairs, shadowing caused by skin being pulled during waxing sessions< Step 3: Steaming – to help with the extractions of ingrown hairs and acne, as well as open pores

Step 4: Soothing Organic Mask – to close the pores and balance the skin

Step 5: LED Light Therapy – Green LED reduces melanoma production and pigmentation. Blue LED prevents bacteria and acne. Yellow LED detoxifies.

You walk out of the spa feeling renewed, rejuvenated, and with an extra jolt of confidence.

Hmm. Sounds curious. A vajayjay facial? Why would one even need that?

Keep reading to find out...

Noni says:

Now-a-days ladies aren't just getting “facial” treatment at the spa for their face. We have other areas to keep beautiful, and Completely Bare is on top of it..

Compliments Completely Bare Spa in New York, I was able to experience the “Brazilian Bikini Facial”. It's similar to a standard facial...the only difference is that is isn't for your face. It's not a waxing treatment or anything to do with actual hair removal; what is does is give you a “facial treatment” for your bikini line...to prevent ingrown hairs, discoloration, blemishes, and keep the area smooth.

Overall it is a relaxing experience, once you get past that fact that another woman is down there cleansing and exfoliating for you. Since it doesn't involve any hair removal (it is actually recommended that you wax or shave a 48 hairs before treatments) it's painless.

It was good to talk through the process with Completely Bare's esthetician, Jill, who has been working in skincare for years and was extremely knowledgeable. She had some wonderful advice about upkeep between treatments.

Overall this is a great treatment to have to get bikini ready after a waxing before hitting the beach. For models this especially useful for getting ready for swimwear or fitness shoots. Completely Bare is a beautiful spa, very relaxing with a friendly helpful staff. Appointments suggested.

Sounds like I may have been wrong. We MAY need this. What do you think ladies?
