Love it or hate it? Michelle Obama in McQueen

Admittedly, this is pretty tame for McQueen, but let's not lose focus: it's the FIRST LADY. IN ALEXANDER MCQUEEN.

What about you?

Courtney Love Makeup Tutorial: "I'm a skin whore."

Courtney Love took a break from her busy schedule of being crazy (that's debatable) to produce a "makeup tutorial" for youtube today. In it, she puts on pink eye shadow, and shows us her skincare routine. Her instructions include such gems as: "I have no clue what I’m doing", and when she draws her eyebrows on: "Like drag eye."

It's actually less tutorial and more rambling, but it's Courtney effing Love, so shut up and enjoy it for what its worth. The day you become more badass than Courtney, with or without the substance abuse, then you can talk shit. Until then, viva la crazy bitch. Crazy like a FOX.

DIY Balmain.

You'll Need:
zippers
rough sandpaper
scissors
meager sewing skills

Obsession: Alex Wang Braids

Totally coveting these braids from Alexander Wang Spring/Summer 2010. Loose, undone, and waistlength = totally stealing the look. This will be my hair ALL week at NYFW. Look for me. ;p

via Bespoken

Make sure to shut the closet door at night.

Outsapop did an amazingly fab (and borderline creepy) DIY fashion hanger tutorial for the the Jan-Feb issue of MissMix magazine, and it's too good not to share.

Here's how to do it:

Could it be?

SheFinds has a preview of the ALLEGED Siriano for Payless spring collection, but I'm not getting my hopes up... yet. I've been disappointed before, and I'm still waiting on the bait and switch.

According to the site, the shoes hit stores in mid-March and will retail for $79.99 each. (Is it just me, or is $80 a bit insane for Payless?)

Anyway, here's to hoping...

Spring Trend Challenge #2: Metallics

(If you're just joining us, check out: Spring Challenge and Challenge #1.)

Also big on the Spring runways? Metallics. Challenge #2 is this gold, metallic leather pencil skirt by Cushnie Et Ochs.

(I was sneaky and picked a leather piece which was also a huge theme, so this challenge was more like 2 in 1. Obviously, the girls handled it brilliantly, because the looks they put together are TO DIE.)

Who styled it best? Check out the looks and vote!

Gives new meaning to "freak 'em" dress....

Ok... I'm fully aware that this is "naughty" jewelry. But who says it has to be? Rock it with your hottest bodycon dress and heels, and if you meet someone in the club... well, you're set. ;)

Kiki de Montparnasse Pearl Restraints.

Boom, boom, err...

16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals

Sofia Vergera, in Carolina Hererra. Can you BELIEVE that she has an 18 year old son?!?!?

This was actually my favorite of the night...

2010 SAG Awards: Marion Cotillard can do no wrong.

16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals

Marion Cotillard, in Elie Saab. I didn't love this initially, but as i sort over the images, it grew on me. And now I think it's kind of perfect.

I could do without the white shoes, though. White shoes with white gown = too bridal for my tastes.

2010 SAG Awards WTF? Nicole Kidman

16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Show

Um... seriously?

2010 SAG Awards- Love it or hate it? Toni Collette

Toni Collette, in an interesting Rafael Cennamo gown.

2010 SAG Awards- Love it or hate it? Sandra Bullock

The opinion on this was pretty much split down the middle last night. I loved it, of course. Sandy + McQueen = fashion dream come true.

What did you think of Sandra Bullock's Alexander McQueen gown?

2010 SAG Awards WTF? Christina Hendricks... yes AGAIN.

And ONCE AGAIN, the WTF award goes to:

Who's on your best dressed list? Here's our top picks:

I don't want to jinx it, but...

First the Norway appearance, then the Haiti telethon last night, and now the NRJ awards today...

Ok, seriously... is Ri using a new stylist? Because girlfriend is back on her A-game.

I don't even mind the hair. In fact, I kinda want it...

Can you spot the difference?

Oh Dolce Vita, don't you start too!

Stycon: Kate Lanphear

Here's why:

Digby & Iona's nod to schoolyard romance.

Valentine's day is around the corner, and if you're like me, those embarrassingly over-acted "He went to Jared!" ads make you want to punch babies.

Good news: Digby & Iona's sterling silver Stump ring is now available in special edition, with any two sets of initials engraved inside the heart.

Not only is it cute enough without being too-too, but you don't have to worry about losing your lunch somewhere between "past, present, and future".

You're welcome.

Another UPDATE: Designers rally in support of Daniel Saynt's Haiti Efforts; Nicole Miller and Tia Cibani join the cause

Re: this post.

To quickly recap, fashion editor Daniel Saynt will be auctioning of his Fashion Week seats this season, with proceeds going to Haiti Relief. Saynt is asking designers to donate seats to their shows for auction.

I am in full support of what Saynt is doing to help raise money and awareness for Haiti, and will continue to update you as I get the info. This is a such a great way to do something on a global level; New York Fashion Week is read about, watched, and participated in by people throughout the world, and not limited just to those of us who live here.

For that reason, it's a brilliant gesture, and those who have been taking digs at him in the press for "seeking publicity", IMO are just jealous that they didn't think of it first. Jealousy is unattractive, sweetheart.

"I just wanted to take an opportunity to praise the following designers for allowing me to donate my fashion week tickets to help raise funds for Haitian Relief.

Marc Jacobs is offering One Ticket
Adam Lippes is offering Two Tickets
Nicole Miller is offering One Ticket
Ports 1961 is offering Two Tickets

All of these designers deserve your special attention for doing something amazing to help in our Haitian Relief efforts.

Read more on the press we've received due to our efforts.

-Daniel Saynt

You think your nails are hot? These are ON FIRE.

WHO WILL DO THIS TO ME, AND IMMEDIATELY?

I JUST CAN'T QUIT YOU, BOO.

Ri is trying to woo me back with this look she sported in Norway recently. Our relationship has had it's ups and downs, and recently I'd had enough and kicked her ass to the curb.

Little did I know that she had a few tricks left up her sleeve and wasn't ready to give up on us so easily...

It's working, Boo.

Dare I say that even the hair is growing on me...

I'm usually not much for knitwear, but when you purl two in neon red, you've got my attention.

Go ahead, I'm listening...

UPDATE: Marc Jacobs, Adam Lippes First Designers To Join in Daniel Saynt's Haitian Relief Efforts

RE: this.

A message from Daniel Saynt:

I just wanted to take a moment to thank Marc Jacobs and Adam Lippes for being the first two designers to donate tickets to my Haitian Relief efforts. As you may know, I have decided to donate my seats at New York Fashion Week to raise funds for UNICEF and The American Red Cross.

Any other designers interested in donating two seats to these efforts let me know.

We are looking for top designers to be involved.

I can be reached at saynt@fashionindie.com.

Further proof that MJ = fashion hero, as if we needed any more convincing. If you need me, I'll be on CharityBuzz bidding.

Photoshop of horrors.

Demi Moore appears in a new Helena Rubinstein perfume ad shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, CLEARLY altered digitally.

My question: WHY? Or, at least, why so much? If this (near flawless) unaltered Demi is too heinous to go public, what hope is there for the rest of us layfolk who aren't running around living life as movie stars?

If you need to photoshop someone, shop Heidi Montag. Give her her old face back. She's creeping me out.

You can take the boy out of the domestic situation but....

Chris Brown was so busy "being a changed man" and "rebuilding his career", that he overlooked one very important rule: Posing with bloody pulp? BAD IDEA. Even if it is Jean Paul Gaultier.

Speaking to the press after the Gaultier show in Paris, Brown made the questionable decision to pose for photos with the designer, who was made up along with his models to look like he'd been beaten to a pulp as part of the boxing-themed show.

EPIC. The headlines just write themselves, folks.

I've found my HG clutch.

Studs, studs, studs. It should be named after me. Someone contact the designer.

I really don't wanna tell you where, because then everyone will have one.

JK. If you REALLY want to know, ask.
